Destination Management Grant Programs 2023
OVERVIEW
The Franklin County Government Office of Economic Development & Tourism is providing financial assistance to tourism-related businesses and organizations through the county’s destination management grant programs. The grant programs provide financial support to undertake promotional tactics, destination development projects, and event sponsorship.
Each award is required to include attribution to Explore Adirondack Frontier, the tourism destination brand of Franklin County.
ELIGIBILITY
All tourism-related businesses, non-profit organizations, and municipalities in Franklin County, New York.
GRANT DETAILS
Destination Development and Marketing Program (DDMP)
The DDMP Supports projects and activities that increase recreational opportunities, or further develops tourism amenities, and enhances the visitor’s experience while actively promoting the completed project. This program is competitive and will provide up to 50% of the costs for approved expenditures. Awards will range between $1,000 and $10,000 and will be issued on a reimbursement basis.

Destination Cooperative Marketing Program (DCMP)
The DCMP provides a way to support independently developed marketing campaigns through a competitive, 50% reimbursable match program. Priority will be given to those applicants that demonstrate marketing partnerships with different businesses and organizations in Franklin County.
Funding is available within two (2) categories; small campaigns and large campaigns. Small campaign awards will range between $500 and $1,500 and large campaign awards will range between $1,500 and $15,000.
In 2023, there will be three rounds of DCMP Large, deadlines to apply are March 31, 2023, June 15, 2023, and October 13, 2023.
Total DCMP Small Budget: $50,000
Total DCMP Large Budget: $170,000
DCMP Small applications will be received on an ongoing basis.

Destination Event Sponsorship Program (DESP)
2023 funds have been awarded, please check back after january 1, 2024.
The DESP is available to events that seek to build upon historical, musical, artistic, culinary, agricultural, recreational, and/or cultural traditions of Franklin County. The program is designed to offer direct financial sponsorship. This program does not require a match and may be awarded prior to the event. Awards will be based on event attendance, impact, and need. Awards will range between $500 and $1,500.
Applications will be received on an ongoing basis until funds have been fully awarded.
