This is the most readily recognized function of probation. We enforce orders of the Court for adults and juveniles placed on community based supervision. Probation supervision includes office reporting by the offender on probation, unannounced home visits, curfew checks, DNA collection, drug/alcohol testing, EHM, alcohol monitoring, SORA (Sex Offender Registration Act) compliance, referrals to service providers, ignition interlock monitoring, and collateral contact with other sources including but not limited to spouses, parents, employers, schools, treatment providers, human service agencies, Department of Social Services (DSS) and local law enforcement agencies. When appropriate, graduated sanctions are applied to offenders who do not comply with the court's order and conditions of probation. Otherwise, non-compliance may involve violation proceedings which could lead to alternative sentencing/disposition options.
