False Information Regarding Franklin County Public Health POD

Franklin County Health Department is notifying county residents of false information circulating regarding vaccine eligibility and ensuring use of excess doses at vaccination PODs.

The correct information is as follows:

Eligibility:

Local health departments may vaccinate all ELIGIBLE New York State residents.  Eligibility is according to the New York State Department of Health eligibility list found at  https://covid19vaccine.health.ny.gov/phased-distribution-vaccine .

Ensuring use of excess doses:

Standby lists of eligible people are maintained by the health department and those people are contacted to receive the COVID-19 vaccine to manage excess doses occurring at a clinic session. Unused vaccine is used at the next clinic.
